Sitting here enjoying a glass of wine after a long day's trek, thinking about all the amazing people I have met. One in particular from today's walk... Salvador.

It all started at 7AM in the morning.

Lesson 221: Don't walk alone in the woods before the sun comes up

About 25 minutes after starting today's walk, my head lamp catches 2 glowing yellow eyes ahead in the path. Let's just say: my tired, half-awake imagination took flight and I knew that it was a panther (LOL - since they don't even exist here!!). Well, I didn't wait to find out what type of animal was joining me this morning, instead, I started sprinting back to where I came from, trying to get out of the forest and back to the road where people would see me if I got attacked - there goes my imagination again - LOL.

Heading back to Roncesvalles, I see another head lamp walking on the path. I yelled "watch out, there is an animal in the woods", "thanks" was his reply. I took a couple more steps and yelled "mind if I walk with you?" He said "come on..." and that is how I met Salvador.

After a good hike, we stopped for some yummy coffee and he talked all about his culture in Spain.

Parting ways... Good luck my friend and Buen Camino!
